Scope of Practice:
Massage Therapists cannot diagnose illness or disease, prescribe medication, or perform adjustments to the human skeletal system. It is not intended to be a substitute for medical treatment.
Health Records and Confidentiality:
I will record notes on each session to provide the best care for you and to track progress. Clients’ personal information is not shared with outside parties (unless legally required). According to legal requirements, records are retained for four years after your last appointment. Any information disclosed durring an appointment will remain confidential.
Clothing and Draping:
All integrative sessions take place with the client securely covered with a sheet/blanket (drape). Under the draping the client may choose to be unclothed, or to remain in their undergarments, according to comfort. I uncover the area I am working on and cover it when I am done. Security, modesty, and privacy are maintained at all times.
I provide ethical bodywork that is strictly therapeutic and non-sexual. I do not provide medical prostate or genital massage of any kind. Clients understand that sexual or suggestive behavior or comments—before, during, or after a session, and at therapist’s discretion—will result in immediate termination of session with payment due in full, and barring from all future appointments. Thank you for helping to maintain an environment conducive to health and healing.
Communication and Feedback:
Feedback or questions from clients are very welcomed and always appreciated, before, during and after sessions. To better serve you, it is recommended that you give feedback (things you really liked, things you wish were different...) to help you get the most out of your session. Remeber, I am not the one recieving the work, you are, and what may feel good to one client, may not to the next.
Cancellations or Changes:
I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours advance notice you will be charged a $40 cancellation fee. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment.
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
When to Arrive:
First time clients should arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the required forms and to discuss health issues and session goals. Return clients should arrive 5 minutes before thier schduled time to review any changes since the last session.
Payment is due in full at the beginning or at the end of a session, I accept cash and personal checks.
A parent or guardian must accompany guests of the age of 16 or younger. Children cannot be accommodated in treatment rooms unless they are receiving services.
Please silence all cell phones before the session starts, cell phone usuage distracts from the relaxation process and will not be allowed inside the building.
